I'm Sarah, a family, maternity and newborn photographer based in Thornlands, in the beautiful Redlands, just outside Brisbane.
But before anything else, I'm a mum. And I think that's where my love for photography really began.
Because somewhere between the messy mornings, tiny hands reaching for mine, sleepy newborn cuddles and watching my babies grow far too quickly, I realised just how much of life happens in the moments we almost miss.
The ordinary ones. The beautifully chaotic ones. The ones we don't always think to photograph, but somehow end up meaning the most.
And that's exactly what I want to capture for you.
Photography that feels like you.
I'm not here for the perfectly posed family photo where everyone is looking at the camera and smiling on cue.
I'm here for the way your little one wraps their arms around your neck. The way your partner looks at you when you're not watching. The wind in your hair, the sandy toes, the belly laughs and those quiet little moments in between.
The real stuff.
As a Brisbane family photographer, my approach is relaxed, natural and full of connection. I gently guide you when you need it, but mostly, I want you to forget about the camera and just be together.
Because your family doesn't need to be perfectly behaved, your home doesn't need to be spotless, and your children certainly don't need to sit still.
You just need to show up and love on your people. I'll take care of the rest.
A little more about me.
Before photography became my world, I worked as a registered nurse. Caring for people has always been part of who I am, and I think that carries through into the way I photograph families today.
I'm a sentimental soul, a bit of a romantic, and someone who believes the simplest things in life are often the most beautiful.
Slow mornings, warm sunshine, salty air, good coffee and time spent with my favourite people.
I'm also a mum of three, so trust me when I say I've seen every version of childhood chaos. Shy toddlers, wild little boys, babies who refuse to sleep and kids who would rather do absolutely anything than have their photo taken.
None of it worries me.
In fact, some of my favourite images have come from those beautifully unpredictable moments.

At Captured by Sarah Photography, I specialise in natural family photography, maternity photography and newborn photography across Brisbane, Thornlands, Cleveland, Wellington Point, Victoria Point and the wider Redlands Coast.
You'll usually find me chasing the last little bit of golden light in an open field, wandering along the beach with a family, or capturing those tender first days with a newborn in the comfort of home.
I also have a cosy home photography studio in Thornlands, perfect for intimate maternity, newborn and motherhood sessions.
